Birthday Girl!

Today is Kinsie's 2nd birthday! It is hard to believe that our little sweetie is already two years old! She has grown and changed so much in the past year and we love every moment that we share with her. She is such a happy little girl and brings so much joy to our lives! We took both Caden and her to get new photos taken today!

Bruiser

Caden has suffered many bumps and bruises over the past few years, but I think this is the worst one yet! While visiting the farm we attended the Ayr Days celebration in Mount Ayr. Caden was playing on a sidewalk, missed a step when trying to go up the step and well, you can see the end result. Fortunately the cut was not deep and did not require stitches, but he looks pretty roughed up! Those of you who are from Mount Ayr will appreciate this...he was on the sidewalk just down from Lefty's! I don't think he is the first person do to something like this in that spot...maybe one of the youngest though :0)

Happy Early Birthday, Kinsie!

Our little sweetie will be turning two on July 3st! While we were visiting the farm this past weekend we had an early birthday party for her. It was an Abby Cadabby themed party, as that is her favorite character from Sesame Street. My mom made a delicious lunch for everyone and then we had purple and pink decorated cupcakes for dessert. Kinsie had so much fun opening her gifts and spending time with her family!

Enjoying her cupcake and ice cream! When anyone has asked Kinsie what she is having for her birthday she always responds with "cupcakes" so that is what I made for her!
Yum!

The first gift that Kinsie opened had a lot of tissue paper and she was so excited pulling it out!

Uncle Cody and Aunt Karen gave Kinsie this cute new gardening set!

I love this picture of her!

Papa Curt and Grandma Terry surprised Kinsie with a new big girl bicycle! She was so excited! Uncle Tory adjusted the seat so she could climb on and check it out.

New Wheels

Last weekend we purchased a new bicycle for Caden. The first day that he had it he rode it around the neighborhood twice! He loves the new freedom of it and is doing such a great job!

I purchased this tricycle for Kinsie at a garage sale earlier this summer. She jumped right on and started pedaling around! She is very proud of herself and it is so fun to see Caden and her riding down the sidewalk together!

Swimming Lessons

Caden has been taking swimming lessons for the past seven days. He was a bit hesitant at first, but his comfort with the water has grown tremendously! He is doing such a great job and will now jump off the side of the pool, bob his body completely under water and also go down the slide. We are very proud of him!

Playing 'Ring Around the Rosey' at the beginning of class.
Doing his best alligator crawl!

Getting ready to kick his legs...also known as trying to splash his instructor!
Working on his front float...

and then his back float.

Perfecting the art of blowing bubbles!

This is a video of Caden jumping off of the side of the pool!

Weekend at the Fair

We spent this weekend with our family and enjoyed some time at the Ringgold County Fair. My parents and Tory and Brandi's family were all camping at the fairgrounds, so we had a lot of fun camping and taking in the activities of the fair.

We attended the tractor pull on Friday night.
Caden was very excited to watch Uncle Cody pull with his tractor, the Red Edge. We found this pink cowboy hat for Kinsie on Saturday and she loves it!
And as you can see, she has her own style for wearing it!!

Adden playing outside on Saturday.
It was so nice to have the campers for the kids to play at!

Adler enjoying some ice cream from the Dari Sweet!

And Caden enjoying his too!

Kinsie kickin' back and relaxing after a busy day at the fair!

4th of July!

We have had a great extended holiday weekend! Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera out much for the first couple of days, but I did capture some photos on the 4th! Tory, Brandi, Addie, Adler and Adden spent Thursday night and Friday with us and Roby, Natalie, Kelsy and Brady came over each evening as well. Cass spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday using his smoker to cook several different kinds of meat, so each night we had a little "garage party" to enjoy the food he had prepared! Each year our neighborhood has a children's parade to celebrate the 4th of July, so Caden and Kinsie decorated the Gator and road it in the parade Saturday evening. After the parade, we enjoyed a BBQ with my parents and Roby's family. It has been a fun weekend!

All of the parade participants were treated to popcycles at the end of the parade. Kinsie thought the bombpop was very yummy!
And her outfit was very colorful by the time she was finished eating it!!

Once it was dark the kids had a lot of fun with sparklers!
