These Are the Moments...

that I wish I could make time stand still!
I was cleaning up from lunch today and when I finished I walked into the living room and found Caden and Kinsie relaxing on the couch together. Caden informed me that he had even given Kinsie a blanket to cover up with! I am continually amazed at how well the two of them get along and the love that they show each other. If only we could bottle this up for when they are teenagers!!

A Fun Two Days!

Last week Tory, Brandi, Addison, Adler and Adden came to stay with us for a couple of days. Thursday evening Tory and Brandi took Addison and Adler to the Sugarland concert in Ames. We had the opportunity to spend some individual time with Adden while they were gone for the evening. As our families have grown the opportunities for spending one-on-one time with any of the kids is rare, so it was a lot of fun for us to spend some quality time with Adden! He is such an easy going and happy little guy and we really enjoyed our time with him!
On Friday all of the kids had fun playing at our house and then we took them to the Incredible Pizza Company for lunch and some fun and games. It was a great day and we all had a lot of fun!
Kinsie, Adler, Addie and Caden and making some creations with moon sand.
What a smile!

This looks like trouble!

Cass and Caden beat out Addison, Tory and Adler taking first place in the go-kart race! I am not sure which one is more excited about the win...daddy or Caden!

I warned them this photo would end up somewhere!

Weekend at Jack Trice Stadium

If you are from the state of Iowa it is hard to miss the fact that the ISU vs. Iowa football rivalry creates quite the excitement each year! We headed to Ames Friday to spend the evening with my parents in the RV at Jack Trice Stadium. It was a perfect night to sit outside, enjoy pizza from Great Plains Sauce and Dough Company and watch some football on the tv. Caden and Kinsie thought it was so much fun to camp with Grandma and Papa and we enjoyed not having to make the early morning drive to Ames on Saturday morning! Although the Cyclones did not come out on top, it was still another great weekend of friends, family and football!

Kinsie was very tired and was asleep in the middle of the RV while everyone else was up for the day! We were making breakfast, running in and out of the RV and my mom even ran her hairdryer and she slept through it all!

Kinsie was trying to tackle Adler to take the football away from him...

he finally gave up and gave it to her!

Kinsie's New Room

Kinsie now has a "big girl" room! As I previously posted, we recently moved Kinsie into her new room. Our guest bedroom is larger than Caden's room and the nursery, so we decided to make that Kinsie's new room. I thought the larger closet was much more essential for her than for Caden :0) The bed and dresser in her room were mine as a child and the small table next to her bed is from Cass's Grandpa and Grandma Shay's house. We have not decorated the walls yet, but I am having a lot of fun looking for new items! Kinsie loves her new room and the transition from her crib to the bed has gone really well!

This is an up close picture of the bedding.

Taking Time to Enjoy the Flowers

While we were outside this morning I took a few pictures of Kinsie checking out the flowers. It was so cute to see her little nose wrinkle up as she was trying to smell them!

Back to School

Today was Caden's first day at Westview Church Preschool. He was very hesitant about going to school, but when Cass picked him up he was all smiles and said he had a fun morning! We wanted to make it a very special day for him so we ate his favorite breakfast of cinnamon rolls and then he and daddy ate lunch together and then took a trip to Target to pick out a new toy.

Game Day!

Thursday kicked off the ISU football season and it was a great day! Time with family and friends, beautiful weather and a win for the Cyclones...we could not have asked for a better day! It was also our nephew Adler's sixth birthday so we had fun celebrating with him!

Cody's birthday is also in September so Adler wanted to share a birthday cake with him!
