On the Farm

We spent this past weekend at the farm. Fall is my favorite time there and the kids loved being able to ride in the tractor with my dad and watch the corn being harvested. Papa even let Kinsie drive the tractor, which she thought was very cool! Saturday afternoon the kids broke out the Streaker and had a lot of fun riding through the field. It was so fun to hear their laughter and shouts of joy as they drove around!
While they were out riding I took the opportunity to snap some photos of all of the kids!
Caden, Kinsie and Adden patiently waiting for their turn to ride.

The ornery twosome!

Adler was the official driver and all of the kids did a great
job with taking turns riding.

Our beautiful niece, Addison!

Hamming it up for the camera!

Addison and I have always shared a special bond and it so
wonderful to see the special relationship that Kinsie and her share now too.

Birthday Boy!

Caden celebrated his 5th birthday on October 20th!
On the day of his birthday his Grandma Kathi took Kinsie and him for lunch at McDonald's and then to play at some parks. That evening we ate dinner at the Iowa Machine Shed, his favorite restaurant, and then opened gifts at home. He wanted to have his birthday party at the farm, so we spent the weekend at my parent's house and had a family party for him Saturday evening.

Kinley at 3 Months!

The past three months have passed by very quickly! Our baby girl brings so much joy to our lives every day and we are loving watching her grow and develop. Kinley is such a content and happy baby girl who is loved by so many, especially her big brother and big sister!
At three months she is starting to sleep longer at night and has even slept through the night three times! She has the brightest smile and her eyes just light up when she gets excited about something. She is also "cooing" so much more and laughed for the first time this week...such a wonderful sound! She definitely has her Great-Grandpa Bill in her because she is very wiggley and does not like to stay still!! She also recently discovered her hands and is starting to grasp on to things.

Kinley has attended all of the ISU football games with us and is such a good girl during the games! We have not had to leave a game yet because of her being upset!
Last week Kinley attended her first story time at the Waukee Library.

Love those smiles!

Center Grove Orchard

A couple of weeks ago we visited the Center Grove Orchard.
This was our first time visiting the orchard and we all had such a fun time!

Daddy and Caden as the farmer and his wife!

Caden and Kinsie loved exploring the three little pig's houses...
they had one made of brick, one of straw and one of sticks.

The goats were so fun to watch as they walked up on the bridge that is located in their pen.

The tractors were Caden's favorite part, ofcourse!

Milking the cow.

The duck races were a lot of fun too!

Playing in the corn pool.`

The orchard has a large jumping pillow and the kids had so much fun jumping on it!

Finding their way through the hay maze.

And cruisin' down the giant slide!

Flag Football

Caden has had a great six weeks of flag football!
These are some action shots of him running for a touchdown!

The six week session ended this past Sunday. Each of the participants received a medal following the final game. Caden was very excited to receive his!

September

The months have been passing by so quickly and I have not been able to keep up with my posting! Here are some pictures from the second have of September!

We have spent many weekends tailgating at and attending the ISU football games. Caden, Kinsie and Kinley have attended all of them with us and love spending their Saturdays at Jack Trice Stadium! Ofcourse it helps that they get to play with their cousins and spend time with Papa and Grandma!
One Friday afternoon we took the kids to play at Raccoon River Park. The kids and I had never been there before and they had a great time!

Caden and Kinsie have been very eager for Kinley to take a bath with them in the big bathtub so this is a picture of her very first bath in the big tub! She loved splashing her legs in the water!

Our Grandma Twilla celebrated her 90th birthday on September 19th! Our family hosted a party in her honor at the Clearview nursing home where she now lives. Above is a family picture that Brandi took for us and below is a picture of Grandma Twilla with her six great-grandchildren from our side of the family.
