Caden and Kinsie went trick-or-treating this evening around our neighborhood! It was a beautiful night and they really enjoyed it! It didn't take long for Caden to get the hang of it as he excitedly kept saying "let's go to the next house"!

Fall Harvest Party
Caden's preschool had a Fall Harvest party today! The children were dressed in their costumes and had a mini-trick-or-treat parade to collect goodies from all of the parents. They then sang a pumpkin song to all of us. Caden is the cute little farmer in the middle of the group!

Carving Pumpkins
We started carving our pumpkins last night and finished them up tonight. Caden had a lot of fun scooping out the pumpkins and then we let him draw a design on his pumpkin. We couldn't figure out how to carve what he had drawn, so we let him select a face to carve from some online templates that we found. Caden thought that was just as much fun! As you can see, Cass and I also had some fun with our own carvings! Once we had the pumpkins carved we took them outside so the kids could see them glowing...they were both very excited!

Pumpkin Patch
On Sunday we took the kids to visit Howell's Pumpkin Patch. We visited Howell's for the first time last fall and enjoyed it so much we decided to go again this year. We first took a hay ride out to the corn maze and pumpkin patch. The theme for this year's corn maze is "Ducks in a Row" and Caden and Kinsie had so much fun running through the corn stalks! We then visited the barn yard, where the kids fed the goats, played in the bunny barn, rode on the wiggle cars and the pedal tractors, climbed in the haystack, played in the hay bale maze and in the giant corn box.

Happy Birthday, Caden!
Caden celebrated his 3rd birthday today! When he came in to this world at 5:04 am on October 20, 2005, we knew that we had been blessed with an incredible baby boy. Caden is such a happy, energetic, curious and loving little boy and he brings so much joy to us every day!
Caden had a great day today...our play group met at our house today so he had the opportunity to play with all of his friends. We also took advantage of the beautiful weather and played outside this evening before having homemade pizza for dinner, and ofcourse, opening a few birthday presents!
We Wore Them Out!
We spent another Saturday in Ames tailgating, watching ISU football and spending time with our friends and family. It was a beautiful Fall day and we had a great time...with exception to the Cyclones losing ofcourse! The time went by so quickly that I didn't have the chance to take many pictures, but I did get some photos of our very tired children on the drive home!

Caden's Early Birthday Party
Caden will be celebrating his 3rd birthday on October 20th, so in honor of his special day we had an early family birthday party for him Saturday evening at my parent's house. He had such a fun time and was blessed to be surrounded by so much family!
Ofcourse he wanted a tractor-themed birthday party!
Harvest Time
As I have mentioned many times, Caden has a great love for the farm and anything farm related. He has been very anxious to get into the combine now that it's harvest time so we decided to spend the weekend at the farm. As soon as we arrived on Friday my parents took Caden and Kinsie for a ride in the combine while harvesting beans. Caden loved it and took everything in and while unsure at first, Kinsie soon warmed up to the new ride and was all smiles! Over the course of the weekend Caden had the opportunity to ride in the combine and the tractors and both he and Kinsie were able to spend time playing outside.

Family, Friends and Football
Our weekend was filled with family, friends and Cyclone football...at our house that is pretty much the perfect weekend! Our friends, Justin, Lisa and Jackson who live in Overland Park, Kansas are KU fans so it was the perfect weekend for them to come for a visit and to attend the ISU vs. KU football game on Saturday. They arrived Friday night and they, along with my sister's family and our sister-in-law Karen, all spent the night with us. We got up bright and early to travel to Ames and spent the day enjoying the beautiful weather, tailgating and watching a great, but frustrating, football game! We had such a great time!
