Busy, Busy

The past few days have been very busy! We spent Wednesday and Thursday at the farm, with Caden getting some farming in with my dad and having Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday at my Uncle Mel and Aunt Doris' house. We then traveled back to Des Moines for dinner with Cass's brothers and their families at Roby and Natalie's house. On Friday, my sister, sister-in-laws and my mom woke up early to do some "Black Friday" shopping. Cass's Grandma Shay celebrated her 87th birthday on Friday, so we attended a surprise birthday party for her Friday afternoon. All of our Shay guys!

This is a picture of the four Shay brothers, their dad, Grandma Norma
and her eight great-grandchildren.

The Shay grandchildren...
(Back Row) Kelsy, Brady, Addison, Adler and (Front Row) Adden, Caden, Luke and Kinsie

Sunday was an interesting and busy day for us! Kinsie woke up with a red rash and hives all over her body, so we took her to the walk-in medical clinic as soon as it opened. The doctor could not give a definite diagnosis, but felt that this was probably an allergic reaction to the amoxicillan that she had been taking for her double ear infection. Caden had a similar reaction two years ago, so when we first saw Kinsie we assumed the same thing was happening to her as well. We were supposed to have our family pictures taken, but decided to cancel! So we moved on to putting up the Christmas tree and decorating for the holidays. Caden thought this was a lot of fun and Kinsie enjoyed playing with the ornaments! Although I think we are going to have then all over our house before the holidays are over as she finds taking them off of the tree much more fun than putting them on! Cass also started working on building some shelving for our basement so Caden quickly decided that working with tools was much more fun than helping with the Christmas decorations!

Great picture of the Shay boys. Looks like Cass is the tallest and the youngest! Sounds like you had a busy and yet fun long weekend. Glad Hope Kensie is feeling better. Too bad about family pics. I am sure the kids are enjoying the tree.

Fun that you could have all the Shay's together. I'm sure the cousins love all being around each other. Hope Kinsie is feeling better!
